Big Bad Buick
This is "Big Bad", my 1998 Buick Park Avenue Ultra.
Already much faster than anyone anyone would credit, considering it's "rolling sofa" persona, this luxury-liner sports a factory-supercharged 3.8L V-6.
Producing 240 horsepower and 280lb-ft in stock form, this powertrain is the object of an on-going series of modifications, the goal of which is to build the "official" world's fastest Park Avenue.
So far, my personal best in this car is 14.353 @ 95.95mph in the quarter.
Modifications so far include a hardened transmission, Yella Terra 1.9:1 roller rockers and pushrods, 3.4" modular supercharger pulley, and a fenderwell intake, all courtesy of INTENSE Enterprises( http://www.intense-racing.com), ported Gen3 M90 supercharger, AutoMeter NV-series guage air/fuel mix, Aeroforce Interceptor Scangauge, Brembo brake rotors, and 18" Konig SLR wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich G-ForceT/A rubber.
With over 100,000 on the odometer, considerable modifications, and a lead-footed driver, the car is still going strong, a testament to the strength of a 20+ year-old engine design.
Credit goes also to http://www.PontiacBonnevilleClub.com, the members of which have provided invaluable help in modifying this bigger brother to the Bonneville.
